The claim to the fame of the VILLA OXALÁ is the garden. Laid down in an old Azorean pattern, it grew wild with blackberries until it was "rediscovered"and turned into a real paradise for every garden fan.
The high hedges, typical of the Azorean "Quinta", were trimmed thus creating charming separate "garden rooms", in which you can look at a carefully selected combination of endemic and exotic trees.

Nonas, brazilian maracujas, oranges, lemons and bananas also proliferate. Gardens in Lisbon served as model for box tree designs and all the flowers are delivered from mother nature directly to front door as a result of the "Greenhouse" climate on the island, which is ideal for the growth of almost all plants.

30 types of camellias remain the pride of VILLA OXALÁ. Azaleas, hydrangeas, agapanthas and belladonnas blossom in rich variety, replacing each other with the changing of the seasons.
